Skylark Ecological delivers expert wildlife and ecosystem assessments with precision and care, navigating Western and Northern Canada’s most remote and dynamic landscapes to support responsible development.

Our team is led by two senior wildlife ecologists with over 40 years of combined experience working across Western Canada’s diverse ecosystems.

We support both private and public sector clients—often in the energy industries, but also across a broad range of projects with the potential to impact natural landscapes. Our collaborators also include basic and applied researchers, Indigenous governments, and environmental NGOs.

We specialize in challenging, remote environments, using safe, proven field methods to collect high-quality data and deliver meaningful, science and experience-based recommendations. Skylark collaborates with a trusted network of partner consulting firms to scale our team and capacity when needed, while maintaining the personalized service of a small firm.

We pride ourselves on our strong observational skills, adaptive field expertise, and commitment to scientific integrity. Our work bridges ecological research and applied environmental management, helping clients meet regulatory requirements and make informed, ecologically responsible decisions.
